Whenever a new operating system is put out some old software won't work. However, the difference between XP and Vista was huge compared to the difference between Vista and 7. So, if your software works in Vista it should work in 7.

The Vista problem with drivers is not Microsoft's fault at all. Drivers are put out by the companies that make the hardware. So, for instance, if you have an HP printer that doesn't work with Vista (or with 7), that is HP's fault, not Microsoft's. Microsoft wants everything to work with their operating system because it makes it that much more valuable, but other hardware manufacturers sometimes want you to buy a new printer from them so they are slow in updating their drivers.

In general it is pretty safe to say that whatever you have working on Vista will work on 7. 7 is basically a cleaned up version of Vista. Hope that helps!

bry

Hey Bryan,

Thanks for the post.
